When Parliament elects a Prime Minister as Head of State, they establish a new administration to enact the Long-Term plans of Parliament.Â
The Government is responsible for the operational matters of state and ensuring the direction of Government is successful in executing the expectations of Parliament. Therefore, Parliament is granted more power and sway over the executive branch than in previous Ascendancy iterations.
The Prime Minister leads the Government of the Union to ensure it is enacting the strategies, policies and directions of Parliament and ensuring the operational matters of state are conducted according to the direction of Parliament in their long term plan, legislation and committees.
The Prime Minister represents the Government at ceremonies or in official duties according to their mandate and duty. The Prime Minister appoints a Cabinet to coordinate the apparatus of Government.
Often held simultaneously with another Cabinet position, the DP supports the Prime Minister and may be delegated specific portfolio work.
Responsible for infrastructure and the public service across all Government agencies and entities.
Chairs Parliament's Finance Committee and coordinates the Union's financial and economic measures.
Leads negotiations for treaties and interplanetary agreements and represents the Union in foreign policy.
Chief legal counsel to the Union, including the Government, Parliament and the Oversight Council.
Ensures Parliament is working efficiently and enforces the rules of Parliament. Coordinates all votes and documentation for Parliament.
