North Harena s known for its manufacturing sector, the Union’s leading oil extraction operations, and tourism centered around the Island of Harena. The region is also home to major national defence assets, including the NDEF homebase and the Union’s planetary naval base. Despite its economic importance, North Harena faces serious social challenges, including high crime rates and strong gang influence. At the same time, its growing education sector and expanding workforce suggest a region in transition. Politically, North Harena has traditionally leaned right due to defence, oil, and law-and-order concerns, but growing urbanisation, education, and social pressure may be pushing parts of the population toward the centre-left.
*Including oil from North Harena and mining profits from Portus.
